i was with sammy at the stanislus and from what i remember the sign said the snails were there, and to wash equipment properly before using again. HOWEVER, since it was a few months back, and i was horribly hung over, it very well could have been just a WARNING sign to anglers who were fishing elsewhere and then coming to the stani to fish.

i seem to think, after reading the sign, that they indeed had been found in that part of the river. best bet is to get someone who really has the knowledge of that area and get them to go up there and check it out. so i guess this post doesnt really help the confusion about whether the snails are in the stani or not.

Thanks R...the dot map showed shasta & the american as infested but not the san lorenzo or the stan. Still sorta tough to find the right map. It should be easier. I was confused. and I'd say the signage is confusing too. Got to be a better way to get the word out. Good on you for having a blurb about it on your website. When I get mine going again, I'll do the same.



I think the stan is not infested but it would take a snow machine or skis to go check beardsely right now.

There are no documented NZMS in the Stan.
I sent a note to Dan Gustafson in MT regarding the San Lorenzo omission on the map.
