The Northern California Fly Fishing Board

I'm moving to NorCal. Just for 4 months, but this is a trial situation. I re-met a girl about a year ago that I knew in high school and she's absolutely the best! Of course, she live in the liberal Bay Area, near SJ. You all know how much I love steelheading, and I just want to spend the last 1/3 of my life near anadromous fish. If this doesn't work out with the gf, I'll be looking at OR and WA. Actually, I want to be Paul's (PGW's) neighbor. Maybe I'll finally be able to wet a line with you, Gitt.
And, yes, I'll be fishing runs and holes, you know, where the fish are. It'll be nice, though, to be able to target winter fish whenever the weather permits. I'll also be looking into moving my business to NorCal.

There's got to be some law ! that requires that you register so that prospective neighbors know you got caught exposing yourself in public!

LA's a nice place for photographers...you'd fit in real (not reel) well there.

Trust me, Paul, I'd be frigging AFRAID to do that in the Bay Area. I HATE LA though. And, it's way too far from steelhead. I've just GOTTA get my ass out of a town where the bumper sticker of choice is, "Annoy a Liberal, Work, Succeed, Be Happy". And worse, these folks don't fly fish.

I wouldn't trust you to do anything except screw up a one car funeral procession...Where can I get a few of those bumper stickers that seem to indicate that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.

You've got a mean streak a mile long, Paul. I keep hoping you'll mellow. I've never harbored any ill will toward you.
If you really want that bumper sticker, I'll try to get one for you. I think they can be found locally at our Republican headquarters, but I'm not certain.
I also believe in capitalism as the best economic system. It has its faults but it usually works. Where it doesn't, we have the government to regulate a little of the greed. When the government fails to do this adequately, we have water stolen from northern rivers by agribusiness conglomerates for pennies, polluted streams, air and groundwater, overharvesting and, oh yeah, economic meltdowns.

I'll be up on the Deshutes middle of next week. Not sure how much time I have available for the Trinity this year.

You dog! What I wouldn't do to fish the Deschutes in the summer or autumn. I'm hoping to be a steelie bum this season. With a base camp in Mountain View, I'll follow the reports and good weather into WA and OR. I'll be sleeping in my van and exploring new waters. I'll also be spending a good bit of time with the gf to see how compatible we are and if we want to take this to a new level.

Deschutes is right in my backyard now. Although I'm scared if the GF thing doesn't work out and you move to Oregon. So far we've avoided the influx of Jig fisherpeople. God help us!

Found a new jig vendor AND have stocked up on some tube flies. I'm ready for bear. We'll have to stay in touch as I'll be heading up in your direction, I imagine.
