Hey Frank, I wanted to answer your question about what qualifies me to write a conservation column. I work for Friends of the River, a state-wide river conservation organization. I've been with them for about two years now. In my position I am a fundraiser, but I am often in contact with the issues and experts that give me a good deal of background on some of the issues of the day. I am not the expert, I'm just a guy that cares about the issues. If folks have topics they want covered, let me know and I'll do some digging and put something together. I recently asked a friend of mine to put together something on the Fall River, something he has a particular passion about, but I don't know a whole lot about (both as far as the issues involving runoff and siltation and the fishing).
