I am nineteen and have been able to cast 100 ft since i was thirteen.I was certified when i turned 14,soon after placed second in the best of the west in san mateo mens division. I have won three national casting championships and am a damn fine fisherman. What because im not the avrage 50+ year old overweight fly fisherman i couldnt possibly know $hit about the sport. so quick math tells me im ahead of the game. I have been prostaffed through sage, gloomis, winston, Sa, Simms, and a couple of reel companies like galvan and bauer. Most of the those companies would send me gear just to try it. Orvis has probably given my brother and I close to 60,000$ worth of gear, pay our travel expenses and have given me more experience in 4 years than most kids my age wont even see until their mid twenties. I work forty hours a week and pull 3.5 on 18 units. so to answer your question yeah I'm on fast track. Beieve me i have delt with the age thing for a good 7 years. You write "drinking the cool aid" sorry bud, that term only applies to ignorant people. I hope your not calling me ignorant for being with orvis because i have pretty good deal. I may not like all orvis products but i dont like every product any one company makes. I am damn proud to a redneck and you would not catch me dead in 90% of orvis clothing but they make graeat fishing product at resonable prices. They donate 5% to conservation which are predomintly on the west coast. I dont think I am better than anybody else because I am with Orvis I just have worked very hard to be at the spot I am. I think all companies make great stuff and i have no problem if a guy like the way a z-axis cast then by all means go grab the z. I guess what it comes down to is I love the sport more than I love any one company and I want to see the sport stay alive I think orvis has the budget to help me in my mission. ps you and the duck make a cute couple

sorry bout the rant im pretty sick of being looked down upon. I have it sweet no complaints!!
