Don,
This one worked well for me at Manzanita last year during the BASH
Lt Grey Thread,
Lt Grey Marabou fluff tail (or three Lt Grey Ostrich fibers),
Lt Grey dubbing (I like beaver) for abdomen & thorax,
(Keep the dubbed body tight & thin, not tapered)
Black uniwire Rib for abdomen,
Oak Turkey wing section for wingcase,
Dubbed head,
(& use a hacksaw blade to scruff up the dubbing fibers on the
Underside of the Thorax to pullout hairs to suggest legs or movement)
No added weight, fished on a long leader, just under the surface with twitches on the line every once in a while.

I like a feather duster nymph.Real easy to tie and looks alot like them in the water.

Hey Oldtrout
Not sure if your talking moving or stillwater but for stillwater I have had great results with Rickard's Callibaetis nymph. Tied just like his stillwater nymph but with woodduck and grizzly hackle. Internet has instructions if you search for it. Use it alone or as a trailer behind a Seal Bugger from the old tube. I have never tried it in moving water.

Yes Darti, these will be stillwater flies.
Three new patterns to try is about all my tying abilities/paradigm (read: very slow, very skill-challenged, and extremely perfection-driven) will allow before my next trip. I do appreciate your taking the time to make the suggestions.
