Pete, Betty,

What are you doing suggesting Hosmer. You'll drive poor Jay crazy. Yes, the scenery is fantastic, and those Brookies are right there for the taking. Easy to see, easy to cast to, many over 20 inches, and hell to catch! Spent more than a few days on that lake staring down longingly at those beautiful fish wanting one to take my callibaetis nymphs. Maddening I tell you. Almost drove me to drink, wait a minute, it did! They are haunting. After being deeply spurned on Hosmer, he'll need to go to East Lake to refresh confidence in fly fishing skills.

Read my posts on the old Board; "I am haunted by brookies"!

I didn't say it was easy fishing! But for anyone in the area, it should be experienced once, just because it is so drop dead gorgeous--bald eagles flying over head and Mt. Batchelor, etc. And, sometimes you get a fish. the evening caddis hatch can be a hoot.

this is going to be the year to fish near Bend. There is a huge snow pack. Most of the lakes are still snowed in. I would reccomend the fall river also. Crane prarie will be awesome at that time.
