Sand, Steel, and Oysters - a mini-bash to cure the mid-winter blahs 17 Years, 9 Months ago
This thread discusses the Content article: Sand, Steel, and Oysters - a mini-bash to cure the mid-winter blahs

Nice writeup Kim - I might also add that an 8wt. rod might be good to bring along! There could be some good fishing in the local cricks at that time...not to mention the surf fishing.

That covered pavillion sounds great if it rains.

Ah yes, the 8 wt. Although I've only bashed once, for some reason, the word seems to be inexplicably connected to good food, great wine, and awesome company.

Y'all. There's fish around there, too. I hope to see at least one.

It's not Southern...but it'll have to do.

Sounds good...was just looking at your signature. Perhaps I'll bring some Southern Comfort along too? I'm not sure how it would mix with Ed's offering - but hey, can't hurt.

Ah, good ol' Southern Comfort...specifically engineered, I thought at one time, to make high school kids chuck on Saturday night.

As we can see, I've come a long way, baby.

How about something light, white and slightly sweet? I'm looking into the availability of my favorite Moscato.

Think Pinot Noir 17 Years, 9 Months ago
Most versatile red wine I like. Those Russian River Pinots are some of the best and go great with hearty shell fish.

Yep - probably the best climate in the world for Pinot? We're lucky to have the Sonoma growing region - world class. Even Napa puts out a few good wines. Remember - SONOMA for wine and NAPA for auto parts.

A good Pinot is hard to beat! 17 Years, 9 Months ago
Unfortunately, there's a lot of crap out there too.

Sounds like I might not be getting up quite as early as I usually do to steelie fish...but too much wine is a great excuse!
