Silver Fork Report 17 Years, 10 Months ago
I needed a "catching" fix after several dismal and "skunky" outings on more challenging streams, so I headed up to the Silver Fork for some small, hungry, and stupid fish (they must be stupid if I can catch them). The flows are down to mid-summer levels, but the water is still pretty cold. Ended up with many, many to hand, with the largest at 9", and I shook off the really small ones. EC Caddis was the ticket, but I think they would have grabbed anything. Hardly anyone else there. Weekdays are the time to go.

Driving back down into the valley was an eye-watering experience with all the smoke. I think I'll have to drive up to Truckee tomorrow to escape the smoke and try for some smarter fish. My success rate on the T has been pretty meager. Maybe this time!!!

Cheers,
El Rey

Thanks for the tip. I've most often been able to do well on the LT, usually with small baetis mid-day, but it's the main T that drives me mad. Unfortunately, I need to drive back to Sac late in the day, so I miss prime time. I know, I know, stay later.

"When seconds count, cops are only minutes away."

Police Protection is an oxymoron. Free citizens must protect themselves.
