for you people whose imaginations have run away . . .

people affiliate with groups with whom they share common values and goals. we all became affiliated with the ncffb for that reason, with our work, with our church, etc.

it is human nature to develop an affinity for certain people within those larger groups, called "friendships". we are closer and share more with our closest friends. think, for example, of the kings river boys. that is natural, not elitist or isolationist. among the things WE HERE share with our closest friends are fishing trips and reports.

it is clear that a large number of people here, if not in fact a majority, wish to keep at least some of their fishing information private or within a small circle of friends. i even have things i will not tell ANYONE. all of us have shared our closely held information via conversations in person, over the phone and/or over email. i have shared a lot with many of you (whether you are the private forum or not).

imagine that one day you get tired of emailing and phone calls and decide to put up a small forum where you and your friends can privately post what you were sharing with each other via other means. of course there are other things posted there too. like carpy says in the rules here, "This is a fishing board, so naturally any post related to fishing is encouraged. However, this is also an online community of sorts, so we expect that off topic posts, or threads that veer off-topic, will occur frequently. We don't explicitly discourage these posts, as we are confident that most of our contributors are capable of exercising a reasonable amount of self-restraint. We do encourage the building of friendships, and we realize that there's more to life and friendships than fishing."

that is all that the private board is. if you're not involved with ours, for God's sake start your own. private board members were fully functional here and there simultaneously for years before a teutonic twat started a lot of the disinformation that used to be out there. the things that some of you imagine about the private board are so ridiculous that some of the trollers get entertainment out of doing things to needle you about them.

private board people organized and executed the raffles, bash bbq's and camping, hats, food, rod bashes (with significant discounts on supplies for ANYONE) and gave all manner of advince and information that helped make the ncffb what it was while they were on the private board too.

the private board did not take anything or anyone away from the ncffb. the people who do not participate as much here as they used to do so for personal reasons as varied as for those who do not participate here who are not members of the private forum.

all of us still have friends here who are not on the private board for whatever reason. some have been invited but declined to participate. some were members and dropped out. some we would like to invite, but some current members may have problems with them - again, human nature. i have several friends that i still maintain pre-private board style communications with (although i will not share what is posted by someone else on the private board).

that's all there is to the private board - nothing more or less. if you begrudge us our choice of closest friends or our decisions about who we will share our most closely guarded fishing information with, then your mind is more soiled than a pair of gt's underwear. if you fault us for not participating as much here as in the past for the same reasons that many who are not on the private board do not participate as much here, or want to call us a bunch of elitist snobs as some have in the past, then i kindly invite you to go fish the yuba.

Doug... who was it that chose http://ncffb.net and registered for the domain name back in late 2004 and had a board up and running in Jan 2005? It took about 15 months to get enough recruits, all of them from here, on this board, to defect.

Randy: Doug registered the ncffb.net name and several others, to prevent anyone from prirating from this board. He did this because evidently no one else saw the danger nor did they do anything about it. The new board does not use the ncffb.net in it's address, however, you, for one, will NEVER know what it DOES use.

Not all the readers of the other board are from here either. Your post just goes to show how ignorance can shine when you make assumptions.

you are correct randy. i am so persuasive that i alone have masterminded and executed an evil plot to convince all of the people who do not participate as they once did to leave this place.

Well, you must've missed the 10,000+ viewed thread yesterday that got deleted today for some reason. It was Andrew Weiner that brought up Doug's board first. Then Dawn was next. They did the spilling.

So your solution is to create a new website? Sweet jeevus. If you are truly friends why not call each other? Seems to me that being friends you would know each others fishing spots/styles, etc.

Thats basically like going to a bar and bitching because somebody else is playing on you and your buddies pool table. Or did you all bomb in, fork up some feeshing sites, and then bail to be elitests?

Did the private board people(and I gag while saying that) create the NCFFB when it was still jeff's chico deal? Funny cause in those days there were only about 5-10 people and it took a week to get a dozen posts.....

Get a life and go fishing. If you take this stuff that seriously then you have lost sight of what fishing(all types) is all about.

Hey Sierra Carp: As a contributor to both boards I can only say that the only dumbass around is you. You have not an clue of any of the background of the boards, have a completely anonymous profile and are even ashamed to show your face in your pictures. In other words you come on here and criticize others with only the intent to harm. Well, screw you a$$ wipe, you're a parasite.
