Try to get to the valley rivers in October like the Lower Feather, Lower Sacramento and Lower American River.

If you can get the time try to hit the Klamath, Trinity, Rogue, Umpqua, Deschutes or Grand Ronde.

In October water temps are usually warm enough that you can catch Steelhead while swinging flies.
