The Northern California Fly Fishing Board

Been awhile, still alive, slowin down a bit. Spent the weekend on the east side of Nevada. Caught 21 trouts on a small creek. Was really suprised since the stretch I fished ran thru a campground. Asked a local if they plant this particular creek, and they said no, the dfg stopped planting a few years back-so these were all holdovers (wild) fishes. I will have to keep the creek anonymous, since there are a lot of treble hook/bait slingin/meat fishers lurkin around these parts.

Heading up the Red Bluff to fish the Feather on Sept. 2nd.

It HAS been a while. Nice to hear you're still wetting a line. In the past few years I've done a bit of exploring in the "Silver State", mostly in search of native trout (the Humboldt Cutt in this case) and I've seen some parts of your state that few do. It gave a new meaning to the word "remote." I also went down Hwy 140 in far northern NV, and I don't think another car passed me for almost two hours. Pretty cool. Some nice hot springs up that way, too.

Actually, that picture is 40 years younger! Gonna have to lay off the ice cream for about 8 months. Booked the mule ride down to Phantom Ranch in Grand Canyon for next May. Hovering right below their weight limit. Here told there are some pretty big trout hanging around down there. Hope to find out!!
