Lewiston Lake - What flies to use? 14 Years, 11 Months ago  
I and several others are going up to Lewiston Lake next week for 3 days of fly fishing.

Does anyone know which flies work best on the lake?

And where are some of the better locations on the lake to fish? We will be staying a Lakeview Terrace, which is guess is about on the east side, about midway up. We will have float tubes and will also be renting a boat.

I have never fished Lewiston lake, but it seems to me that Chip O'Brien had an article on it in the California Fly Fisher a while back. Don't know if they have archives on line or not.

I haven't fished Lewiston for two or three years but before then I used to fish it often. I did well stripping a brown leech pattern on an intermediate line. I have also done well on olive scuds and midge imitations.

The most recent issue of California Fly Fisher magazine has a nice article on Lewiston Lake by Chip O'Brien. Arrived in the mail a few days ago and should be available in any Fly Shop.
