McCoy Flat Res Question 15 Years, 1 Month ago
Does anybody know if McCoy Flat (Lassen County) had enough water at the end of last year to winter over fish? (Its great when it does...not so great when it doesn't.)

nothing!!

Prehaps the old fishing guide or his son (they live in Portola when not in Spauling)
might know.

I didn't check the keyhole but the main part of the lake was dry so I would say there is no hold overs. I did hear from a friend that there now is water and it has been planted, not sure if this is true because I didn't see mention of any planting on the DFG sight.

I saw that McCoy was on the approved for planting list, but I didn't check the schedule. Hopefully our abundant precip this spring will enable them to keep some water in the lake this year. That is when the fishing gets good!

Thanks for the info.
