Am going on a little road trip this weekend to Lewiston. Any one have current info on upper Sac? May swing by there if warranted. The S. Fork Eel is completely blown out. Good news is we are finally returning to normal rainfall amounts. Good for raising fish but bad for cabin fever. Many out of dry firewood.

I fished the Upper Sac on Thursday and Friday last week before I hit the McCloud for opening weekend.

The flows on the Sac were coming down from 4200cfs last Tuesday (4/27) to 2600 on Friday. Managed a couple of fish on nymphs in the shadow of the I-5 Bridges in Dunsmuir and at Cantera on Thursday but the water was in the grass and trees on the banks.

On Friday, we hit almost every access point from Volmers to Prospect looking for water that we could get a decent drift without using 1 to 3 SSG size split shot.

I'd recommend the McCloud if you go, the lower river (Ash Camp to the Nature Conservancy) was probably less than 200cfs and fish got caught on nymphs and dries when we were there on Opening Weekend.
