Water Temps are reaching 53-54 degrees here on the Feather in town.
Crane flies, Baetis, Midges, Caddis are all starting to come off.
Small Steelies and a few trout are taking sub surface emergers and we even caught three on dry flies Thursday this week! Zero pressure, nobody is fishing!
Break out the 4-5 wts! Dale, Willie, the rest that have interest.. Its time!

C'monn Paul, this aint the only thing you read on the net right?
RJSFly trips wrote a nice report and i can say I saw them in action this week. Here's a hint...
We get our Feather River water temp data from a telemetry station, FRA on CDEC in the same stretch of river, ( which happens to be one of every Chicoan's favorite series of riffles.. CB

And another thing,, 15 Years, 2 Months ago
Water Parity isn't occurring until at least 8am, so there's a good bite in the am until 10 or 11, sporadic activity throughout the afternoon with hatches peaking at the warmest part of the late afternoon, depending on the day and temperature gradient and how fast it rises, then cools off. Each ady is of couse different but there are as them young guides say a few fish around.
Stop in the Gun shop if ya git in town! CB
