If I ever went fishing I might post a report. Even if I haven't been fishing, like most of us, I always have time to spend money. Bought a TFO professional series 9' 4 wt rod the other day. Spent a few minutes lawn casting it, and its a pretty good rod. They only run $150. Its plenty of rod for your average lawn. Maybe I'll even fish with it one day.

Those lawn trout are notorious for ripping yarn off of leaders.

Enjoy your new toy.

close to home casting fun 15 Years, 3 Months ago
A bit of yarn/fur and a cat can be great fun when lawn casting.

I even have a short rod for inside the house. Right I now use about a 6" long strip of natural wolf, with a 4ft, 20wt rod. I can make very accurate casts to about 7ft and even smack the cat between the eyes on occasions. She thinks it is great fun. One strike actually tore the rod out of my hand.

True story. A friend unspooled a brand new Cortland 225 grain QD sink tip onto the floor of his house. He tied his backing and started reeling line in. Then he got a phone call. When the call was over, he started reeling the line again. When he got to the floating line/sinking tip interface, the tip was gone. He walked to the far side of the hall to find his wife's cat playing with the tip.
