Wow, what fun. My first lap top and WiFi. Almost as much fun as the steelhead I've caught. Man, I just love that species. Been up for 2 weeks, fishing from Mon - Fri and spending the weekends with my bay area GF. Unfortunately, the coastals have been blown out for most of my time here, and not fishing on weekends has hobbled my travel abilities, but with the tailwater fisheries available, I've been able to locate some steel. Some days have been just off the hook while others got me donuts on my steelhead card...in the same spot that produced fish the day before, but that's steelheading! I've been mostly bouncing egg patterns off of the bottom, and for the first time have used those plastic bead-type flies.

They really do work!
Some fish have been so bright I had to wear sunglasses to look at them, others were dark and fungused. Five topped 10 pounds, so I'm a happy camper there, but I'm really hoping I can hit the coastals next week, just to look at some new water and enjoy Cali's beauty up there.
