south fork american 15 Years, 4 Months ago
Has anybody ever fished the south fork american out of echo summit area? It LOOKS fishy, but I hear it's not... although I've been lied to before.

Just curious... I don't ever plan on fishing it ever.

I fished it a bazillion years ago, in the section along the "mile markers," which is not the part that's right next to the highway. Really small trout and not many of 'em was my experience. But the fact it was so long ago might factor in, because I suck less now at FF than I did back then, but back then...well...it certainly wasn't pretty. There might've been more and bigger trout, but certainly couldn't get any.

Like FG, I fished it many years ago. There are small trout to be found. Just bring your standard Sierra assortment of flies.

Thanks guys

I talked to a tahoe local who said about the same. Nothing too big, but fun and easy to find your own runs to fish.

Yes, it does look quite fishy.

It's not. Serious.
