According to the recorded voice, my only choice for Steelhead fishing on New Year's Day is The Russian!

yeah fishing the russian is like taking your sister to the prom.
There should be some fish in there around Guerneville. But then you have to deal with all the drug addicts and homeless people shooting up on johnsons beach.

Shawn,

...don't forget the "alternative" lifestyle cruising spot that Wohler bridge has become...access at places up or down river (far in each direction) may be a better choice...thinking about a politically incorect named rock or either a place that's near a station or a ranch.

You've gotten spoiled by good water since you left CA.

Petri Heil,

Paul

Yup, Carmel River is closed as well.

The Big Sur is open, but it's awful early for there.

Guess I'll tie for a bit.

Got to a bridge before 7, checked out 2 other spots, no flow, pea-green frog water, and rain. Home by 9:30, if it keeps raining, I'll try again on Sunday.
