Before shopping at Cabelas or Scheels, take a long hard look at Nevada City Anglers in your own back yard. You MIGHT spend a few more dollars on the rod, but when you want to pick up some tippet or flies and the local fly shop has been pushed out of business by the big box stores, you will waste a lot of time and money getting to the next closest shop. Try getting a local fishing report from Cabelas.

I'd suggest a 9ft 5 weight 4 piece rod.
