That is a tad spendy. Most I've spent is $500/day, and that included meals, transportation, lodging, licenses, booze, cigars, etc!

Any good guide should be willing to share his expertise, even if only for a day. I am usually up front with a guide when I'm asking to learn and become familiar with a new area. They know we're not all millionaires!
