Middle Fork San Joaquin River 16 Years, 7 Months ago
Cindy and I spent the last weekend in Mammoth Lakes fishing Friday and Saturday near Devil's Postpile. It was a blast.

I have written an article about it. You can read it here:

Great report. That is (was) one of our favorite places.

When you have a chance, try the MF below the falls below reds meadow.

Fantastic

Phil,

I have done a bunch of the work behind the scenes. I am waiting on a reply from Greg to let me know it is OK to continue.

Grnwtrs, Next time I will. Are you referring to below Rainbow Falls?

First off, that is a great report, I am envious!!

Yes, the trail down to the falls can be busy this time of year but the , photo opps are quite good ( even with the shortage of snow/rain) of the falls are great, and the fishing for natives spectacular.

Shadow lake is a nice day hike, busy also , but then again what isn't in the sierras. Think about the trail to lake Ediza, iceberg, and to upper iceberg. At upper iceberg lake you can look down on Devils Postpile!! Might require a couple of nights.

Again, thank you for the great report and pics, keep them coming.

Thanks for the tips. We headed towards Shadow, but did not make it up that far. Maybe next time. It might take a few weeks to explore the area properly...
