In between looking at houses, touring, visiting with friends and just plain being retired I have managed to get in a few days of fishing. The area around Spokane abounds with numerous waters that generate a lot of nice fish, not the least being the Spokane River which flows right through town. Went out for a couple of evening fishing explorations with a friend and managed some nice rainbows and what I think are cuttbows. Not much of a rise going on but using a Leisenring lift with a pair of caddis nymphs turned some fish to 16" silly.
Then over to the Selway and Lochsa in Idaho for three days. Loads of small (6"-12"

cutts with just the few to 14-15". All on bushy dries...water was high but very clear and just absolutely great wet wading. I did find out that the area is infested with chiggers, an oversight on my part that I am still paying for with intolerable itching.
Then took a two day jaunt over to Rock Creek area to visit a friend at his cabin right on the creek. Now that was fun!!! Lots of fish willing to rise to dries and some pretty big ones I fooled with streamer patterns fished tight against deep banks.
The housing market up here is booming for buyers at the moment and I've found numerous beautiful homes that are of interest, not to mention an additional 30 acres that I will be using with the other acreage I already bought for hunting. Deer, elk, moose, pheasants and turkeys all spotted on the land I have...that's exciting!!! Patty and I have also deleted a bunch of homes from consideration after a drive by disclosed that the realtors really are a talented bunch of creative photographers. None the less, it won't be long before I'll be switching license plates on the vehicles. Home again in about 10-14 days. Will report any further adventures later. Not much access to internet for the most part.
Tight lines all.
