well, for those of you that chose 16 Years, 8 Months ago
not to attend the Bash, you missed out.
Great Time with
Great Friends,
Great Food, and
Great Music

and the fishing wasn't too bad either. After I cleanup a bit I will post a fishing report.

One sad note, Dave Dbaggins passed away last Sept. His brother Shane attended the Bash and filled us in.

Dave was quite a character and he will be sorely missed by those who knew him.

Thanks for the post Paul. Wish I could have been there. Came down with a bug Thursday and would not have done well making the long trek. Made up for it by catching up on fly tying this weekend.

So, who won LMS? Like I should be asking you......but possibly you might have spoken to someone Sunday morning who would know.

I had heard about Dbaggins. Have missed him around here.

LBS 16 Years, 8 Months ago
"Last Boy Standing" goes to Joey,,,Salman was the last man standing, but Joey stayed and put out the fire after everyone left.

I had a pretty decent day on Sat with over 400 inches of fish,,,20 fish, 20 inches long or better

Those days are few and far between, but they sure are nice when they happen.

Re:LBS 16 Years, 8 Months ago
Uh Huh. Joey as LBS I believe. The 400" claim is rather circumspect coming from someone with a nickname of a fish with kissing lips. We demand pictures and corroberation.

Re:My dear Mr Phil 16 Years, 8 Months ago
Paul,

Your reputation precedes you......so you've accounted for 20" with that pic, giving you the benefit of the doubt that that truly is a 20 " fish. Purists would really like to see a tape on the bottom of the net to substantiate this potentially concocted myth. So that leaves 380" to account for. If we let you slide for 200", could you come up with the final 180". That shouldn't be a challenge for someone fo your caliber.

Phil

PS: Here's my last 20 incher from last week at Diamond Lake. Note the perspective given on this pic to leave little doubt as to its worthiness. But I did not make claims to 20 in one day. I cuaght this one. 20 in one day must have meant you fished that super secret place with Charlie??? Inquiring minds want to know.

To infer that the Sheriff would exaggerate, lie, or otherwise deceive us is not only ungentlemanly and deceitful, but completely unacceptable. I'm not sure that he would accept apologies or not. In his interest I can only say that I have NEVER known Carpy to stretch any fish or numbers. If he said he caught 20 fish of 20" then I believe they were all at least that large or larger and that the numbers were correct. I also know that he probably caught a lot of fish smaller than 20"...the fish were hungry after Joe and Joey failed to feed them the day before.

And, if anyone wants to fish my secret spot, all they have to do is contact Troutnut and he would be more than happy to sell a fishing/camping membership in Wilderness Unlimited so you, too, can enjoy the fine fishing and access that the club makes available. It certainly is NOT a "secret" lake or pond.

Carpy is a Fisherman, isn't he? I know I saw a T-shirt once that said, "I fish, therefore I lie". Another says, "I've never met an Honest Fisherman".

The logic seems clear to me!

Or it could be just plain pure Jealousy on my part that I wasn't there.....It was probably the later.

Charlie,

Like you and Carpy, while I have grown older, I have never grown up...to quote Ed Zern, "All fishermen are born honest, but they grow out of it!"

@#$%^& anyone who wasn't there who makes an inference that a fishing report from Carpy may contains errors.

well, given the fact, that the only ones 16 Years, 8 Months ago
there to see my feat of pure luck was a few white and brown faced cows, several swallows, a few buzzards, and other assorted wildlife.

Isn't that the way is usually is, you do something out of the ordinary, and no one sees it?

Given that fact that my memory is so bad,it is hard for me to bend the truth and remember exactly how I bent it..
