McCloud Powerhouse, coming to a McCloud Near You 17 Years ago
The Draft License is posted and the instream flows are still under discussion, so they are not in the document (all 520 pages of it). The big news for me is a proposed powerhouse on the McCloud. Right now water is moved from McCloud Reservoir over to Pit 6. This would be a Powerhouse right on the Mac at the base of the dam there to come on-line in 2016. One hopeful thing is that the turbine would be a 90cfs to 400cfs turbine, meaning those higher flows we all fear would not be a part of that plan... but the plan states that the final determination on the turbine would be determined by what the instream flow requirements are.

So, there is still a lot to be determined.

I read one line that said "Pulse flows are not proposed in the Lower McCloud River so no measures are proposed." However, I'm wondering how a powerhouse is operated without pulse flows. Always on?

More info gathering to do and more stuff I need to get explained to me.
