I now live in Willits and am interested in any knowledge that you may have about fishing the Eel River area. Having lived in the Sierra so long got me spoiled.

Here is a little advice. Find decent water clarity and fish there. With the recent rain I would think that upper parts of the S. Fork Eel might be in shape. Probably expect the main stem to be blown. You can waste a lot of time trying to go fish other rivers to find out that they are dirty. You either want to swing or use an indicator for the fishing. All you need to throw under an indicator is some form of egg pattern. I have found oranges and pinks to work the best.

Hope this helps.

Thanks so much. Dos Rios was tea-stained yesterday. I'll try it again after this weather system departs.
