I wanted to find out if anyone on this board is a member of the Shasta Mayflies? My mother has just recently showed an interest in learning how to fly fish at the young age of 70 something. She went out and purchased fly fishing gear and she's asking all kinds of questions. I've been showing her how to cast but she lives in Anderson and I live in Sacramento so we really haven't had much of a chance to work on her cast.
For Christmas this year, I got her a membership to the Shasta Mayflies. She's going to go to her first meeting this month. Her name is Betty Lillegard and she's lived in the Redding area for over 45 years. She's a fantastic outdoors lady and I owe a lot of my passion for the outdoors to her.
