Pit R. report 17 Years, 1 Month ago
Had a few hours to 'hit the Pit' yesterday.
Weather was warm and sunny. PMD's and Midges were coming off around noon, and I even saw two adult Golden Stones flying around !! (one crawled up my neck while fishing and almost put me in the drink while swatting at "that creepy thing crawling" on my neck...until I saw what it was... said sorry, and sent him on his way)

Fishing was fairly decent. Fish ate Black AP's, Gldn Stone nymphs, and small PT's. For some reason, they were bigger than usual in this stretch. We landed one just over 18" and lost another that might have gone bigger. The others were in the 14" range...the normal size. Still some snow in areas...challenging to get around...as always.

Not every good looking spot produced, but it was enough to keep one into it.

It will be interesting to see how this premature Springtime conditions affects the actual Springtime hatches.
