I'm interested in beginning my steelie life and would love to hear from anyone about fishing any of the forks of the Eel.

The Eel operates under low-flow closures, of which some are in effect right now. We just returned from a 3hr stint at the mouth of the Van Duzen. Lost one dime bright hen of about 8#, swinging a "red-wing" on a clear Int. shooting head. GREAT water along the South Fork too, which clears MUCH faster than the Main.
