Hey, I just tied my first Gotcha (in an effort to satisfy my bonefish craving) and I'm working with Extra Select Craft Fur. It seems really thin and it seems really uneven. Anyone have advice for tying with Craft Fur? Should that beard be with a stiffer material or is the fine Craft Fur the right stuff?

an old Daniel Boone Coon skinned hat from my oh so distant youth. Just a small tuff and tie it on using the pinch method

After cutting the craft fur off at the backing, hold it and pull off some of the thick fuzz of the butts (I don't know why, I do it). Then hold the butts and gently pull off the strands that are too long. They should pull right out of the stack. Keep sliding out the too long strands until you're happy with it's even-ness and thickness. Then cut to length and tie on. You got some Krystal Flash on there, too, right?
