Sorry there Rock… been there done that. Mine was during the Dot-com bust. I strapped a pack on and traveled Europe for a couple months. However, with no kids, my responsibilities were a little different than yours. But getting out of Dodge, anyway you can, is highly recommended! Clear that head…
I have never fished down near Big Bend, I’ve always been around 3 and the uppers parts of 4. So I can’t help you out there.
There have been huge fluctuation during the curse of a day above the lake (about 1000cfs), but not sure how it is below Britton. I think it is usually steadier… but I would think twice before exploring it with an 11 year old. Although he'll probably leave you in the dust getting into and out of those canyons.
The upper Sac seams to be pretty stable and very low for this time of the year… going into the low 300’s
Good luck!
