Star Lake 17 Years, 2 Months ago
Hi All,
I have a friend of mine who asked me to post and ask if anyone had any information on Star Lake. He and two others are planning a trip this summer and wanted to know what to expect. I've lived below Job's Peak for 33 years and never fished the lake so I had no idea what to tell him. Anyone been there? Any recommendations?
Jeff

Hi Jeff,
Haven't done it personally. Grandfather used to ride horseback up from the Carson Valley side. There's a nasty shale section that's still the highlight of the story. One of the source inspectors at work does it as a day trip, but I think he goes in from Luther pass on the rim trail. He's only in every so often but I'll ask if I see him. Muttered something about small goldhead buggers and ants.

Thanks Eric, much appreciated! I'm finally getting the urge to get out. Deer & elk seasons are over, duck, goose and chukar are all coming to an end and all this nice weather is really giving me the itch. Pyramid ought to start heating up pretty soon and much of the water on the east side is open year around now so I am sure I will be hitting it pre-runoff. Can't wait!
