The D.F.G and its bad hatchery practices is what caused the collapse of coho in the russian river to begin with. the warm springs
hatchery had Bkd or bacterial kidney disease in it and it wiped out the fishery. It is also blamed for the same thing on many of
the North coast river. During the seventies and eightys the dfg planted bkd infected fish in some of the coho rearing streams.
Now they are doing this in salmon creek. salmon has a small Remnant population of Steelhead. I hope they screen them for the
disease.
