In a huge shake up of the delta water wars, the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service released their BiOp on the delta smelt calling for drastic changes in the volume and timing of delta pumping. The ruling is being hailed as a huge victory for delta fisheries.
In other news, DFG Director Koch in his statement on the smelt ruling, still played the governor's tune pushing for a "comprehensive Bay Delta Plan" another name for the governor's peripheral canal.
It's going to be a long two years till the next election.
