I have used this knot for years and never knew what it was called. I use it for all my fishing with great confidence, stillwater, river and even steelhead fishing. Great for small midges. Easy to tie when your hands are cold.

Interesting. I copied the jpeg of the Davy knot and tied it a bunch of times at home. It seems to slip a lot more than the Pitzen knot, which I recently found on an earlier thread. The Pitzen seems REAL strong, while the Davy slipped more often than (k)not. Heck, maybe it's just me...
