Need a 12V battery for my trolling motoer 17 Years, 4 Months ago  
I just brought a trolling motor for my inflatable water master raft. I need a 12 V battery for it. Since I will be carry the battery in and out of the raft, I don't want a heavy 12v battery. It and cover needs to fit into a milk crate. I was told that maybe a wheelchair battery would suit my needs.

I use the water master on small lakes.

Loretta,

Check at West Marine, they have a smaller battery for electric motors that I almost bought. I did not buy the battery because I thought it was expense, if I remember correctly it was $75 or $80, but it was very small. The clerk told me it was just as effective as the bigger bateries but I cann't verify that statement.

Also might be a good idea to register your water craft with the DMV... anytime you place a motor
be electric or gas on any water craft it requires CF numbers to be legal on the CA. water. Victor

Thanks, I will once I get my trolling moro installed on my raft. Will have to ask Santa Claus for the battery and motor mount

the battery you really want is a Optima, maintenance free and nonspillable, on the down side they run around $200. Victor
