Hi,

Sadly, I have to tell you that Cathy died on Friday 3 Oct about 7 in the evening. The aneurism on her aorta ruptured Friday morning. She was rushed to the hospital, where following a CAT scan and X ray, it was determined that the rupture could not be repaired. She was awake and lucid for much of the day. She was transferred from the ER to a ward, and rested comfortably until she died. At least one of our kids was with her the whole time.

I was on the East side of the Sierra Friday morning, and after learning of the situation, left and drove back to Monterey. I arrived about two hours after Cathy died. Ned and Ginger and Beth were with her when she died. Kristen and Joe had just gone to supper, and Michael was still en route.

We were married forty five years as of last June. I miss her, and will miss her. We are having a memorial service for her at the Little Chapel by the Sea in Pacific Grove next Saturday, 11 Oct, time TBD. I have had at least three of the kids here until today, and now I am down to two and Ned's wife. We are busily cleaning the house.

I have spent the last 48 hours calling Cathy's and my family, and trying to get a handle on the next week. I am still kind of weepy when I have to talk about it, but getting better.

Please keep Cathy, our kids and me in your prayers and thoughts.
