Ed I'm so sorry to hear of your loss. I know how you must feel, my friend, as this year I lost both my Father and Sammie my sweet golden retriever.
They're both still here with me as I'm sure Cathy is with you. I try not to focus on the loss but rather the wonderful memories we shared together.
Thank God for friends and family they truly made a difference. I know you're surrounded by both and you couldn't ask for a better support system.
My thoughts are with you...

Sonny, the black lab, ran ahead to make sure there were no gophers or jackrabbits in the way. If you don't give a dog a specific job, he'll improvise one for himself and it will invariably be fun. There's a lesson there.
