Not much...keeping spots secret...no more social events, i.e., rod building classes, fly tying classes, drinking classes, etc.

See that's the problem. There's no one left to argue about stuff like that. Hey, George Bush loves Obama. He gets the blame for everything he screwed up!

This place has a bad reputation when I have heard it talked about on other boards. I joined up after the big blowup, but from what I understand someone else was running the board for a long time and the place just turned into a bickerfest.

I have not felt inclined to post, although I post a lot on some other ff boards.

It seems to me that even with the very low number of posts, very little is about flyfishing in northern California. Heck, that main story about flyfishing in Montana has been on the front page for over a year, in fact those guys have gone back and done that trip again already.

How about the main story on a board about flyfishing in Northern California be about flyfishing in Northern California?

This place has been a major disappointment to me and to many others. When I first joined up here there were lots of posts by users cussing other users. It looked like a real unfriendly place, and still does.

Your profile is pretty slim. Judging from the Background you must like high alpine lakes. Sonora Pass?

Actually I seldom fish the high alpine lakes. I have a preference for shallower lower elevation waters like Frenchman's Reservoir, Lake Davis, and my #1 favorite, Baum Lake. I have stayed away from Baum for the past several months because of the heat, but I am looking forward to resuming after Labor Day weekend.

I fished Lake Davis five or six times and although I like the place, the copepod infestations on those poor fish just really bother me. I will likely go back in the fall when the water has cooled, but if the copepods are still a problem I probably won't return.

Frenchman's is a nice place too, will go back there in the fall to the cooler water too.

I usually don't catch anything but dinky planters in most of the alpine lakes.

I fish many of those same areas, and a couple of others as well. I've stayed away from Davis for the last,,oh,,3 years or so. Hopefully by next spring it might be better.
