Hi Folks,
Please excuse this "spam" - I think it falls into more of a PSA type of post...
I just became aware of this festival for Wild Steelhead that is set to take place this weekend (Feb 8-10) in Healdsburg in Sonoma County.
here's the link:

Please take a look at the sponsor list to get an idea of the agenda (they do have a schedule of events posted). I take it as this is an opportunity to promote and publicize the plight of Steelhead (and Salmon) in the Russian River watershed.
There will be a lot of informational vendors at this festival with a fair number of activities for all age groups.
I see that TU, DFG, NOAA, Russian Riverkeeper, Sonoma County Water Agency, US Army Corps of Engineers and more will be there.
Along with these, I see a number of Alternative energy companies and "fish friendly farming" topics being shared. I think it is a good thing and brings together a lot of issues we have been writing and debating about on the board for years.
I do not know what to expect at this festival as I know only what I've read on the website (see above). But it might be worth it to take a look if you have nothing else to do. This event is free to attend (with the exception of the dinner event on Friday night).
On the one hand, depending on who they have manning some of the booths for the agencies listed, this might give us a chance to meet-n-greet some of these people and let them hear some of our views and opinions in an atmosphere of friendly dialogue.
Thanks and I might see you there on Sat.
