Howdy Folks,

Dana and I are celebrating our 30th wedding anniversary in about a week and are heading for an Oregon Cabin on Thursday for a few days. Well tonight the kids came over for dinner and to help us celebrate this very special occassion. My oldest son and his wife, my daughter and her husband and our youngest son were there. Our daughter and son in-law gave us a little package which included a special book entitled "A Grandparents Legacy!!!!!!!!!" I am going to be a Grandpa !!!!!! Dana is going to be a Grandma !!!!!!!!!

No finer anniversary gift in the whole world could have been given to us . It seems the Lord just continues to bless us all the time. I remember giving my oldest son his first fly rod on his first birthday (guess I was a little anxious) . I may break that record with my first grandson !

YAYYYYYYY!! It is so much fun.... Especially when you hand them back to their parents. Especially when the grandkid does something obnoxious that is EXACTLY what the parent did, and the parent 'wonders where that came from'. Especially when they they do something really clever, and it takes your breath away. Especially... Oh just especially!!

Nothing anyone said to me about becoming a grandparent has measured up to the level of emotion(s) and genuine chest filling pride that a grandchild provides. Our little Hattie will was 10 months on the 15th. She has my heart entirely. You have been given a wonderful blessing and I am very happy for you and your wife. Congratulations and get ready for what will be the best chapter in your lives.

Nothing like having grandchildren...and for the grandkids, having grandparents around is the next best thing to having diplomatic immunity...from their parents.
