Vehicle break-in on the T 17 Years, 11 Months ago
Just an FYI-
My buddy and I were on a float trip on Sunday and somebody broke into our guide's vehicle and stole a lot of stuff. Rods, flies, duffel bag with clothing, etc. Most heartbreaking to me was not the $1,500 in stuff I lost, but my fishing journal which goes back years and chronicles my trips in S. America, Montana, Oregon, and all over California. All my memories, honey-holes, flies used, etc. I had visions of passing that down to my kids, etc. Breaks my heart that some lowlife probably just tossed it in the trash somewhere in Weaverville or something.

Anyway, the break-in was at round house. It is known as the Powell private property access I believe. It was our take-out spot on our float. So, keep a look out and don't be lax.(I'm usually not so lax; guess I was focused on steelies and didn't transfer that journal to my backpack. Stupid.)

That's really a shame, Eric.

Did you have your name and address in the journal? Perhaps someone will come across it somewhere and get it back to you...

Hey Buzz, I did have my phone number in it (not address). I keep thinking about the 1 in a million chance. That would be an awesome phone call but I won't hold my breath

Having been broken into on the Gualala and losing a lot of stuff I sympathize with you.

Call me a gorilla but I am really tired of the namby pamby courts handing out slaps on the wrist to criminals who steal from others. Our values have eroded over the years until now a criminal, caught breaking into a vehicle or house will only be charged with a misdemeanor. Possession of stolen property is a felony but the actual break in, unless it is a business, is a misdemeanor and the criminal can get no more than one year in jail. I say cut off his friggin hand.

You're a gorilla... 17 Years, 11 Months ago
When my vehicle was burgled at the Sunrise access on the American, I wanted to knee-cap the a-hole with a .227. Something not too large-bored and flat shooting. I had visions of hiding in the bushes with my windows open to lure the SOB back to my van. But, it was only a day dream.

A misdemeanor just ain't enough. BRING BACK HARD LABOR! How's 2 years of hard labor on a California chain gang sound? He'd need both his hands though.

Hey Charlie... 17 Years, 11 Months ago
I'm under the impression that you either studied Arabic, spent time in the Middle East or both.

Do you know that a moslem can kill his wife AND her lover, but only if he can get them both with one bullet. Is true!

let's keelhaul him! 17 Years, 11 Months ago
I say we slow troll him behind the boat and chum the hell out of the water and wait for the sharks to punish him. Maybe he can make it to shore, maybe he won't. I hope he can outswim a school of sharks.

Yeah, it must have been one of those pot heads. Nice call jackass.

Sorry Dwyce10. Might be easier to track down the fishing gear and go from there? Good luck.....
