Really sorry to hear it. God does hear our prayers and answers them according to His will. Let's bombard Him with the best for your son.

Robert,

Our thoughts and prayers are with your family. My heart ached at what you must be going through.

Re:Prayer's Appreciated 17 Years, 5 Months ago
I want to thank you all from the bottom of my heart. This has been a very painful experience. But everyday gives us just a little more hope for recovery.

I have 4 boys, all great kids. But sometimes there may be darkness and horror that we just do not see as parents. I consider myself an engaged and dedicated parent. My family has always come first, like most here. My son is extremely likeable, cordial, and adjusted - never a problem except for 2 major surgeries last year. This is my eldest - 22 years old and one week away from graduation from college.

Yet still, his life collapsed, and doctors can still not determine the cause. It has been over 2 weeks of pain, misery, bartering, pleading, praying, and hoping.

We have given this journey up to God. It is responses like those I received here that have given me the peace to "Let go and let God".

For all of those of you who are parents this holiday season, make sure you hug your child and love them unconditionally. I have done this for 22 years, and yet I ask God everyday for 1 more day. We can only hope and believe that this will lead us to a better place.

Never take one second for granted. Funny I find myself saying that, because I always told my son I thought of him when I heard the song "I Hope You Dance" by Lee Ann Womack.

I hope you never lose your sense of wonder,
You get your fill to eat but always keep that hunger,
May you never take one single breath for granted,
GOD forbid love ever leave you empty handed,
I hope you still feel small when you stand beside the ocean,
Whenever one door closes I hope one more opens,
Promise me that you'll give faith a fighting chance,
And when you get the choice to sit it out or dance.

I hope you dance....I hope you dance.

I hope you never fear those mountains in the distance,
Never settle for the path of least resistance
Livin' might mean takin' chances but they're worth takin',
Lovin' might be a mistake but it's worth makin',
Don't let some hell bent heart leave you bitter,
When you come close to sellin' out reconsider,
Give the heavens above more than just a passing glance,
And when you get the choice to sit it out or dance.

I hope you dance....I hope you dance.

(Time is a wheel in constant motion always rolling us along,
Tell me who wants to look back on their years and wonder where those years have gone.)

Hey RB,
You gott'em. That has to be very difficult.

We'll get out on the water soon enough. Hang in there.

I live in the city, but don't fit in,
You know it's a pity the shape I'm in.
Well, I've got no home, and I've got no choice,
Oh Lord have mercy on a country boy!

That song is very important to me and my son Shane. Some day when Shane grows older I have a letter written to him from his mom after she was diagnosed with cancer. Along with the letter is a Leann Womack CD with this song, very good words to live by. I hope everything turns out well for you and your family.
