Trinity Report :pic: 17 Years, 5 Months ago
I fished this weekend with SST and his collegue Allen. Since I remembered my camera, SST told me it was my responsibility to post the report The water was low and clear, and the fish were further upstream than they were a couple of weeks ago.

Here is Allen fishing with his spey rod:

Here is SST working Hud's Riffle:

Snicker "helping" SST fish:

Snicker running around in the rain:

I love the Trinity in the winter--there are brilliant colors set off by the drab winter surrondings:

No fish pictures this trip, but I had a great time. Good to fish with you guys!

Hey Dawn,

I was almost getting organized enough to report....thanks!!!

It was great to get up there. I guess AZ Bruce must have worn all the fish out a couple weeks ago...catchin was slow.

Good to see you 'n Snickers and haunt the waters that have been visited by NCFFB'ers of Fishmas Past!

Hey Ed,

No tips on fishing, but I can highly recommend La Grange restaurant. Great Venison Bratwurst.

La Grange ! 17 Years, 5 Months ago
I haven't been there since they re-opened...sounds like they have something familiar on the menu however...good stuff.

The Meatloaf is outstanding too...not to mention the "free" ho'r dories in the bar...could be a dinner there.

So where is La Grange. Am familiar with most of the restaurants in Weaverville. That one doesn't ring a bell.

Hey Dawn,

Really great pictures! The Trinity is certainly one of the most beautiful rivers around.

Best Wishes and Merry Christmas!

They call it the free loader- it certainly packs em into the bar. We tried to get in on it on a Saturday night, but its a no go. We planned to just order dessert, but the free loader is a Friday night only thing. The wild mushroom ragout is pretty good table fare as well. Their ribs taste pretty good on the following day. Yes, my buddy could not resist the Free Loader and could not eat his meal afterwards. I am lucky enough to tag around with a guy that has eyes bigger than his stomach.

It is just up the street from the library/ police station on the opposite side of the street. It burned down last winter and was back up and running in pretty quick.

Kelly,

Thanks for the idea - I ate there a couple of years ago, and it was darn good. These days, once I get back to the Lewiston Valley Motel, mama's is about as far as I get - maybe the Old Lewiston Inn on Wed - course, I got a driver this trip... hmmmmm.

What is a good place to stay in Weaverville? Something no worse than the LVM, and not much more expensive???
