Take it off! Take it off! 17 Years, 5 Months ago
I'm bored. Let's throw a party.

I think an oyster roast on the beach, half-way between everybody, is in order. Some time a little after steelhead mania, but before people start talking trout. And definitely something to look forward to, after you spend a significant proportion of your hard-earned income on lead-tainted imports to please your loved ones.

As a good pagan-buddha baby, I'm zero-ing in on something full-moonish. January seems too soon, so February might suffice. How bout the holiday weekend of President's Day? You can celebrate the one you have, or wish for the one you want (ideally, I'm looking for someone who doesn't work to dismantle my constitutional rights and/or destroy my fishing, but that's open for discussion).

It's due Feb 20th I think, but what about the 17th, a Sunday, with hopefully Monday off? (come on...take it off! take it off!).

Somewhere rounds the Bodega Bay or Point Reyes area, maybe camping, but with definite hostelry options (cheap, good, lodging, that time of year). I know of places that will even let you bring your horses, I think.

I'm willing to straw boss, if there's interest. Round up the bivalves, accoutrements, pillow places, etc. Throw your hat in, or pm me (that stands for private message).

OK, :shrug :hmmm: I'm not sure what I just read here... 17 Years, 5 Months ago
but I'll put something on the calendar.

Greg's a party animal. If it evenly remotely sounds like "bash," he's in (with a bushel of oysters, no less).

What's with February 20?

You forgot to mention.... 17 Years, 5 Months ago
a BONFIRE!!!!

I will drag my sorry butt from the pathology lab and thesis draft for this. Only one request...if we could make it a beach that is dog friendly, that would make my life a whole lot easier. Too bad Humboldt is so far for everyone; we have great beaches and great local oysters up here.

Awesome idea! I am looking forward to it already!

Not much, but the farmers in the almanac, say that's the full moon. Since the 20th is mid-week, I judiciously claimned the par-tay on the 17th. Like it's my own kingdom, or something.

The power is already making me heady...

I have a better offer in February involving a long plane flight south, brown trout, steaks, good red wine and gaucho's. Make it mid-March and I'd be in. If you got power, might even be able to do a slide show.

You're telling a 'Chick" that you got a 'better offer' than her party, but if she wants to wait around a month, you might be interested?????

MAN!!! You better be offerin' more than a slide show.... Whoooo-EEEEEEEE..

Now we get to see who the REAL steelheaders are... 17 Years, 5 Months ago
Although the offering is first rate, the steelhead are still-a-swimmin' in Feb.

But, oysters and good company...

What a decision for ANY steelhead devotee to have to make.

A strong casting arm and a room temperature IQ.

Who said there couldn't be steelheading AND oysters? 17 Years, 5 Months ago
Bruce,

You lack imagination! Charlie suggested to me two beaches which have steelhead and are only 1 county north of where chick suggested the party be. Even if we don't choose those beaches, a REAL steelheader would know how close they are and that they could be fished to and from the beach party
