Re:First Hunt 17 Years, 5 Months ago
Hey Buddy,
We consider you and Lisa family. We should try and get together sometime to hang out or fish. I hope Lisa's family was not effected by the storms up north. Say hi to Lisa for us and keep in touch.

Chukkar stuffed with Hot Hungarian Sausage. 17 Years, 5 Months ago
Every year my parents get together with their friends and make Hungarian sausage. This year they made close to 60kg of sausage that will be smoked. All the directions are in Hungarian and metric system. Joey and I brough along our Chukkars and decided to stuff them with the spicey sausage and seasonings on the outside. We used an oven bag to keep them moist and I think they turned out great. Chukkar are fine eating birds and I think we may hunt for them again in the future. Thanks for all the support and replies.

. . . probably eat better than wild chukar. I assume they are grain fed. Wild chukar can be very gamey if they are not taken care of properly. I gut them immediately upon killing them and wash them out good that evening after picking them around the fire. It makes a big difference -- if you happen to go after the wild birds in the future.

I'm not a hunter, but I like your approach to all this...

My girls are young (5 and 8), but they like going fishing with me. this past Summer, my younger daughter all of a sudden proclaimed that she wanted a fishing rod. I bought her a small spin casting rod. We spent a weekend at Mt Shasta and fished one morning at Castle Lake...Just planters, but my younger daughter could not stop talking about her first trout for several weeks after.. She's a barbie and girly girl type, but this one experience broadened her horizon just little more.
