JD Ritchie in the Auburn Journal reports Northern California’s new winter trout season angling with Zero limit, No Bait, and artificial lures with barbless hook regulations on: North, South, and Middle Forks of the American River, and Putah Creek. The Little Truckee River between Boca and Stampede is included, the site of the major FFF/CFRF stream improvement project some years ago. This time of year large brown trout migrate upriver out of Boca to spawn. Watch weather conditions this time of year. Wading during high flows can be dangerous.
