So, maybe I need to hook fewer NorCal fish? Would that put me in better standing with the gods?

Hey you little weiner,
I'm glad you had a terrible time in California...
I wonder why this guys comes all the way over here from arizona to fish the trinity river?
it must be because of the massive crowds and tiny fish...
I might of ruined that river, but at least the crowds generally have the decency to keep to themselves and not yell at me from accross river.
Though your post might not have said many positive things it has a little more weight than us locals posting about it. Think about it I wake up and I'm there in less than an hour, and you flew from arizona. if a stream is worth flying to it must be damn good especiaaly if you're willing to put up with the small city fishing around you.

Stay inside... never go fishing especially during winter... it sucks... don't go... There are definately no Steelhead in California rivers... You might as well go to Oregon.

I just figured out my browser problems, and the little weiner thing, that is apparnetly how azbruce greets people when he calls them on the phone... even if he has never met them. I'm sorry if this isn't exactly the kindof thing that is meant for the campfire.

Over fished vs. Overcrowded 17 Years, 6 Months ago

Sad to say NCFFB has long since been a place where you can responsibly post reports. Especially about a river like the T that is already WAY over fished. Just too many people.
I don't think that "overfished" and "overcrowded" are the same thing. "Overfished" implies that the fishery is hurting due to the fishing pressure. I don't think one can make that argument about the Trinity given the return numbers this year (or even most years). Given that most of the fish are hatchery, and pretty much bred to be caught, the argument becomes even harder to make that the Trinity is overfished.
"Overcrowded" is a judgement call and varies from person to person. The Trinity is crowded, but so are most streams in California. I realized this is just semantics, but I think we need to be careful about making the issue (even implied) that the fish are suffering from the fishing, when that just doesn't seem to be the case, at least on the Trinity. I don't think it is irresponsible to post reports about the Trinity in the least (as far as fishing pressure on the fish is concerned).
As far as reports about the Trinity, I hear about it a lot more places than here on the NCFFB, but I live in Humboldt County and it is close.
