I think I can call myself a Californian now?
It's official. I've been blue (politically, not mood, necessarily) for a while, now. But as of Tuesday night, I've been thru an earthquake!
Although the epicenter was about an hour and a half south of me (and across a sizable body of water), I still got to feel the rumble in Sonoma. It was more like a little wavy gravy, by the time it got up here...but I thought I was losing my mind, for about 5 seconds or so, as the house felt like it was either tied up to a dock (and another boat had just come thru) or it was part of a fun house (and I should start looking for a place to grab hold of).
It was over before I knew it, and then I thought about calling the neighbor to say "help, my house is moving!!". But then I thought, "maybe I didn't eat enough today, and this is what hypoglycemia feels like". Then I had a real thought, checked the internet, and sure enough...it was indeed, an earthquake.
In any case, what a wild experience! And on that note, I think I'll crack open one of the (red) reasons, I'm here. : )
ps - my friends from the South keep calling and asking if I'm making it thru all the natural disasters. They, who live amongst floods, hurricanes, flying cock roaches and mosquitos the size of birds...
