How's the Low Flow been for steelhead? I was there 2 weeks ago and it was sloooow. There were no salmon sitting on redds so egg patterns didn't work. I tried small nymphs but didn'e even get a bump in 4 hours of fishing. I stopped and fished the Lower American on my way home and did land a fat 19 inch hatchery hen so that day wasn't a total loss. I haven't caught anything except for smolts since then so I was thinking about heading up your way this weekend.

Hi Jeff, The river in its entirety has been slow for a couple of weeks now. The fish are showing signs of enough play, sore lipped and selective. I went out last night and hooked one 1/2 lber on a caddis emerger. Thats the first fish I've hooked in three sessions! >>>>>>>>Trin!

Thanks Craig. I'll just fish local and save some gas. Now that the upper part of the American is closed, there are a lot more gear guys out fishing for salmon in the lower reaches. I'll be avoiding the line-ups. Jeff P.S. I'll second that about needing rain (for the fish and me for snowboarding).

Whew! I thought it was just me... skunked early last week with one hookup of something hot and a quick spit before i even got to the backing. That was it for three AMs of throwing everything I had in the box.
